Get the best start for your degree at Lancaster University with Study Start: a 2-week academic induction for students.
Starting a university degree can seem a frightening prospect. Often students come with many questions, for example:
Study Start aims to help you become an independent and confident student, well-prepared for life at Lancaster.
You will study in a small class of undergraduate or postgraduate students. Each class has one Tutor who not only guides the group learning, but also supports individual students with feedback and discussions.
Course Aims
The main assessment method is a written assignment (1000 words) to be submitted in several stages before final submission at the end of the course. The feedback you get on this assignment will help you decide which aspects of your work to prioritise when your degree coursework starts.
Study Start 2023 tuition costs £850
Accommodation costs approximately £140 per week for a single room on campus with a personal toilet and shower room. Students may opt out of campus accommodation.
Once students have accepted their Study Start offer, they will receive full details of arrivals, registration and accommodation via email.
For students travelling to the UK, we run a shuttle service from Manchester Airport.
The application deadline is 4 August 2023.
